When we first launched Tiki-Toki Timeline Maker in March 2011, our timeline creation software was quite basic. It came with only one sort of timeline view (we now have five different ways of displaying events, including a 3d view), lacked search and filter options and came in only one language: English.

Despite being so basic, people loved it. It could be argued that the limited feature set actually helped. With so few options, our software was very easy to use. People picked it up on their own without any help from us. For example, my own mum - who is in no way tech savvy - managed to use our software to create this timeline of her life.

Over subsequent years, we have added lots of new features. Some we have thought up ourselves. Others have been suggested by our users. Thanks to this work, Tiki-Toki Timeline Maker is now arguably the most feature rich timeline generator out there. These new features have proved valuable to many of our customers but they have come at a cost.

Our software is no longer as simple to use as it was. We still believe that most people will be able to learn the basics of creating a timeline using our software without much trouble. But some of our more advanced features require time and experience to master.

That is why over the last few years we have been publishing regular tutorials on how to use Tiki-Toki Timeline Maker.
