In The Car

Seat belts save almost 13,000 lives a year. When riding in your car on your way to school, wherever you go no matter how far always wear your seat belt with the lap and shoulder belt on. When you wear your seat belt you are protected from any harm that may happen. It it VERY important to wear your seat belt. Seat belts save lives

Walking To School

Some of you may way to school. It is very important that when you are walking to school that you dont talk to strangers. Most strangers are just people we don’t know. But some strangers are not nice to kids. Never go anywhere, get in a car, answer questions, or accept anything from strangers - even if the person seems friendly. If you ever need help from a stranger ask a Police officer, A teacher or a mother with children. Your safety is very important

On The School Bus

School buses are the safest mode of motorized transportation for getting children to and from school, but injuries can occur if kids are not careful and aware when getting on and off the bus. When getting on and off the bus stay seated until the bus comes to a complete stop, never stand up or get out of seat until the bus is completely stopped. While waiting for the bus say on the sidewalk away from the road.

Gun and Weapon Safety

If you ever come in contact with a gun or a very dangerous weapon, never ever touch it. Stop and leave the area tell an adult and they will know how to handle it. Never ever pick the weapon up and play with it. They are not to be played with or touched.

Pedestrian Safety

When walking, riding your bike, or riding in your car, always watch out for people walking on the crosswalks or on the sidewalks. These people are knows as pedestrians. when you are walking on the street alwasy cross the street on a crosswalk check both ways for cars before crossing. never walk on the streets near cars, stay on the sidewalks.

Water Saftey

Swimming is a very fun activity. But it also can be very dangerous. Before you get into a pool or a swimming area make sure that an adult is with you too keep supervision. If you have not taken swimming lesson or dont know how to swim always wear a life jacket or have floats to help you stay above the water. Once you take swimming lessons and know how to swim remember those things taught and always stay afloat. Take break from swimming a don't stay under the water for too long.

Riding Your Bike

When ridding your bike make sure that you always have both hands on the handle bars you are focused on your surroundings and you are paying attention to cars if you are ridding on the street. Obey all stop signs.

Staying Safe at Recces

Here are some basic playground rules to keep you safe. Always play safe by being careful. Never run around or push and pull others while near playground equipment. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Physical contact and mean words are not allowed, Don’t go too close to the front or rear of moving equipment; instead, walk out around it, Wear proper clothing. Make sure your shoes are tied and never wear clothes that have drawstrings, When you get off equipment make sure there isn’t anyone in the way, If you jump, always bend your knees slightly and land on two feet, Don’t play on equipment that is wet because the surface will be slippery, Take turns and get in a line when more than one person wants to use a piece of equipment. By sharing, everyone will get a turn. No holding places or butting in line. Ask an adult for help if there is a problem or someone is hurt.

There are very many things that can do harm to our bodies. SO never touch anyhting or put anything in your mouth that isnt food. Never play with household cleaners, bug spray, or plant food. These kinds of things can be very harmful to your body.

When You Fall

To prevent falling, getting hurt, and getting a scratch always be as careful as you can, don't run crazy, or play around dangerous items. If you do fall or get hurt immediately go the the recces aid and she will take you to the school nurse, give you a band-aid, or help you to feel better.

Sports Safety

Playing sports can be so much fun! When playing sports make sure that you take lots of breaks drink water and give your self rests so you don't get too tired. play safe with others don't push or say mean and hurtful things. Remember that playing the sport is all about having fun

Fire Safety

Fires do not happen very often but when they do it is important to know how to be prepared. First off never ever play with matches or lighters. Listen for fire alarms and the smell of fire. When a fire does happen escape the area as fast as possible. Remember the fire escape plan learned at school and in your homes and stay calm and call 911

On The Driveway

If you are playing in the driveway or in the driveway getting or getting out of your car, Make sure that the driver is aware that you are around the car. Before you play or get in a car in the driveway make sure the driver is aware of your location so no one gets hurt.
