This Ident from 1980 is used to identify the channel and to help the audience to be captiviated in the programme during the commercial breaks. This ident here is used to introduce the news this also is used for the audience to establish which programmer and channel is delivering the news. When it comes to idents a continuity announcer is important because it informs the audience of what programmes are on next.
2003- in this ident they have incorporated a member of the channels presenters. They also have continued to use bright colours to make it colourful and attractive to its audience. They have used the colour a blue and yellow which links with the logo as the same colours are being used to represents the channels identity.
2006 The identity of this ident is love we see this through the relationship of the mother and son. In the ident they have used bright vibrant colours like yellow to appear colourful and attract their audience. This has changed since the previous idents as they are more colourful and bright whereas the others where dull as they used dark colours. Here they have used a location that sets the tone of being calm and relaxed.
In the channel they mainly use the colour yellow this is because this colour has been used in the logo of the channel helping audiences identify the channel as the colour yellow is regularly used in their idents because it is the colour of their logo.
This modern day ITV ident is just a short clip essentially and then the clip comes to and end and the ITV logo is revealed with a pull focus. the reason why they do this is to keep the audience till the end till ITV reveal their identity being their logo.
