The Diocese of West Missouri
A History of the Diocese of West Missouri.
From its founding in 1889, the Diocese of West Missouri has been a diverse mix of urban, town and rural congregations. Today, our 48 congregations composed of 11,000 parishioners span the western half of the state in communities as distinct as Kansas City, Joplin and Warrensburg. What they have in common is a commitment to the gospel message and engagement with their local communities. We invite you to enter our web site and learn more about us. In West Missouri as always, the Episcopal Church welcomes you.;xNLx;;xNLx;A special thank you to all those who have submitted information to make this timeline possible.

President Truman laid the cornerstone of our office and education building in 1959. Currently, Trinity and its Outreach Programs have been active within the Independence community.
