The beginning of this Timeline is just a reference of time. No one knows for sure when the first transportation vehicle was invented, just in the year 3000 BC.

Walking

Though it is unknown when wagons were first invented, humans have walked since we evolved into a species that was able to. Walking was a way to travel, and it is timeless. I can't really put a specific date on that because the timeline would then be impossibly long. So this is just the starting date of the timeline but not the actual date humans learned to walk.

The Covered Wagon

The first wagon was made sometime in 3000 BC. It is unknown who created it or when it was exactly invented. The covered wagon is the next wagon that has been in vented. It was invented in 1749in Pennsylvania. The main aim of the wagon was to transport goods and people from one to another place.

Boats

Like the Wagon, Boats were invented before records were. They think the first boat was just a raft created to cross a river. An early photo of a boat is pictured as well.

First Train

The First train and steam engine toke their first journey hauling 10 tons of iron for 9 miles.

The first bike

The first verifiable claim for a practically used bicycle belongs to German Baron Karl von Drais, a civil servant to the Grand Duke of Baden in Germany. Drais invented his Laufmaschine (German for "running machine") of 1817 that was called Draisine (English) or draisienne (French) by the press.

The First Passenger Train was on the Stockton and Darlington Railway company.

Passenger Ship

Many people traveled over ships throughout history, when fleeing countries or going on exploration trips. A passenger ship is different though, this is just traveling and passengers started using them around the year 1962.

Contrary to popular belief, the first car was created by Karl Benz and originally had three wheels

The first airplane was created by the Wright Brothers. It was flown without damage, by its own fuel and power.

Henry Ford Created the first Four Wheeled car, called the Model T and originally was just in one color.

First Passenger Airplane

First plane was a flight across the English channel. The first nonstop flight was from Newfoundland to Ireland.

Modern day cars range from many different shapes, colors, and models. There are a variety of makers and you just have to step outside to be able to see one.

Modern Day Planes

Planes are used for transportation all over the world and all over the country, every day! There are many different types of planes and airlines. Sometimes looking into the sky you will be able to see one passing over head.

Modern Day Boats

Boats are used not only for passengers (mostly cruise lines) but for cargo as well.

Trains are used to travel as well as to deliver cargo in the present day.

Bikes

Bikes are used for recreation more than for travel. They most definitely are not used for travel that is far away, maybe a commute to work or school if close in the present times.
