When i applied for my IT job training in 2001, i got interviewed by Siemens AG, VIAG Interkom could chose from these two options, although they worked closely together in education of trainees. I decided against the more conservative Siemens Corporation and went to VIAG Interkom into the exciting and at this time quite new cell-phone industry.

VIAG Interkom was taken over by the british telecom and renamed to O2 Germany.
While working for VIAG Interkom i had several Job training at Siemens sites in Cologne and Dusseldorf and at Henkel KGaG in Dusseldorf. This was due to the fact that these three companies worked together in their trainee programs. I had the opportunity to get to know all three companies and their locations.
O2 Germany was taken over from the spanish Telecommunication company Telefonica and rebranded in 2006.
During my studies i supported the E-Commerce startup Weinvorteil as a freelancer with Webdesign, E-Commerce, ERP and CRM Solution based on MS Excel, MS Access and VBA automation.
During my studies i had to do an internship and got jobs Interviews for IBM Business Consulting and Accenture GmbH.
I decided for the Accenture GmbH, because they offered me a projects in the Mangement Consulting with IT focus in the Insurance sector. The telephone interview with the hiring manager was easy and it seems to be a cool opportunity for me.
For my final thesis i wanted to work with a consulting firm together so we could also check the fit for a permanent position afterwards. I got several options to chose from when i finished my studies in 2008.
I got a contract offer from MicroStragy, which had an office right next to the cologne site of O2 Germany in 2008. That was quite lucrative and an exciting company, but i rejected the offer because i wanted to work as an independent consultant who manages multiple tools, methods and bi strategy.
As i already knew that i wanted to work in the Business Intelligence and Datawarehouse field i applied to and talked to several small and medium consulting firms in this sector, especially those who offered local projects in Germany, so i could build a private life as well.
Infomotion was a key competitor of Cologne Intelligence and i had a job interview in 2008, which failed from my POV just because the hiring manager (which wasn't the CEO) was quite unkind and tried to do more like a stress interview, instead of getting to know me better. One topic was how i would handle a boss, that is a rival as well and tries to bully me.
Another competitor of my consulting firm in Cologne was Information Works, which was especially strong in the financial industry and the SAP BI solution sector. After a job interview with the CEO and a short assessment center i got offered a contract as well, but the high variable compensation suggested a lot of stress and overtime, so i decided to reject the offer.
Right after my start for Cologne Intelligence in full time, i worked in internation projects for the chemical and pharma company Merck in Darmstadt until March 2009. I worked for Merck until 2010, but as i was booked by the Deutsche Post AG later, i did this mostly remote or 1 day per week onsite.
In 2009 and 2010 i worked as an external consultant for the Deutsche Post AG. My consultant firm was the Cologne Intelligence GmbH, which was listed as a preferred supplier for the Deutsche Post AG at this time.
In Mid 2010 i got a project assignment at T-Mobile in Bonn as a Senior Analyst DWH and worked almost 5 days a week for the Deutsche Telekom. This got me disconnected from my employer Cologne Intelligence and encouraged me to get self employed as a freelancer in late 2011
After i left my consulting company and founded the info.genesis Unternehmensberatung i got direct contracts with the Deutsche Telecom (later T-Systems) over the preferred supplier Quest Software Dienstleitungen GmbH. i worked in several projects for Deutsche Telekom in Bonn, Münster and Darmstadt from 2012 till end of 2015. After they decided to not extend my contract i had a job interview for the Role "Lead Designer Advanced Analytics / BigData" in Bonn but did not get a contract, i guess because my salary expectations were too high or the hiring manager saw a potential rivaly.
In January 2016 i had a Jobinterview at Congstar in Cologne for the role Manager Reporting in the Controlling Team. I did not get an offer, maybe because a former female colleague from the telekom hired as a Manager in IT a few years before.
In February 2016 i had a Job interview in Dusseldorf at HSBC for the Job "Technischer Projektleiter Data Warehouse & Reporting". It was a cultural fit.
In early February 2016 i had a long job interview at Bayer Business Services for the permanent role of a "Application Manger Business Intelligence" with two women. I did not get an offer.
In early 2016 i got a contract with RWE in Essen, the supplier was the HAYS AG. I supported RWE in a global risk management Data Warehouse and financial reporting program based on Oracle and MicroStrategy technology.
In April 2016 i had an first interview with HR for the job "Lead Consultant" at Infomotion. The scheduled interview was cancelled by the CEO due to project business and i called my application back.
End of April 2016 i had a job interview in Cologne at the Gothaer insurance company. The interview was long and nice, but i did not get an job offer. The hiring manger was an elder woman from the insurance industry but with no IT knowledge.
End of May 2016 i had an telephone interview with a VP from Deutsche Post AG for the role "Senior Chief IT Specialist" but he tried to reduce my salary expectations.
In mid 2016 i got a permanent contract at the SolarWorld AG in Bonn and left after three month, because the SAP project and the financial outlook was very bad and insolvency was ahead.
In December 2016 i got an job interview in Essen again, this time at Innogy AG for the role "Senior Systemmanager BigData/Analytics". I can't talk here about the details.
In December 2016 i also got a job interview at Ströer Media Company in Colgone. It did not work out.

In March 2017 i had a job interview in Dusseldorf at Vodafone for the Job "Principal BI Business Architect". The interview worked quite well, but unexpectedly i got a rejection three days later.
In February 2018 i had a job interview in Dusseldorf for the Job "Managing Consultant" but did not get an offer in the end, because i don't have enough experience in the banking industry.
In February 2018 i had a phone interview with Microstrategy for the job "Director Professional Services" in Munich. But in the end i did not get the offer.
In March 2018 i had a phone interview with HR for the job "Senior Manager BI Strategy". The hiring manager later rejected the application.
In March 2018 i had a job interview in Cologne at pmOne for the job "Head of SAP BI Consulting" in Stuttgart. Creating a new team and a new site. But i did not get an offer.
In April 2018 i had a job interview at Lidl for the Job "Teamleiter (w/m) BI - Development & Implementation". The second interview was cancelled because of illness.
In April 2018 i had a phone interview with Deloitte in Munich for the Job "Senior Manager (m/w) Analytics & Information Management - Insights Strategy & Managed Analytics" I did not get an offer.
Job interview for "Senior Project Manager". After intitial interview the feedback that they have hired Senior Mangers already and have not job for me right now, but my profile is interesting.
In May 2018, I had a job interview with Thales in Ditzingen, conducted by telephone. They were very interested in me and the salary would have been manageable, however, the environment was too small and too focused on technology for my liking.
