"Charles Duprez was advertising for a new musical director– Violinist –trumpeter. Lavallee evidently responded and this time Duprez came to Montréal in September to put the company together and opened the 1868- 69 tour at the Mechanics' Institute . . . presumeably [Lavallee] took part in rehearsals and in the comnpany's performances on 17-19 September."
