Thomas is put into prison for being a known supporter of the former king. He is threatened with execution.

The Age of Reason is published. Paine wrote this pamphlet while in prison, but was released on November 6, 1794. The Age of Reason is a written attack on Christianity and declares that,"My mind is my own church."
