In 1964, the Human Rights Committee mobilized a set of anti-discriminatory certificates in attempt to abolish the discriminatory barriers upheld in Greek life on campus. Their efforts were met with conflict when one sorority on campus refused to adopt the Committee’s documents.;xNLx;;xNLx;The fight to remove racial discrimination from sororities has not ended, even after 58 years. In 2021, UW continues to struggle with valuing inclusivity and advocating for diversity within Greek life.;xNLx;

Certificate I, a non-discriminatory certification, was created by the Human Rights Committee for the Panhellenic Council. It was due November 1, 1964.

For reasons unknown, the Tau Chapter of Kappa Delta at UW-Madison was declared dormant on campus in 1972.
In 2003, Lamba Theta Alpha sorority, Inc. was the first Latina Sorority to be established at UW-Madison.
Kappa Delta Chi Inc. was established in 2005 at UW-Madison.

The State Room in Memorial Union was renamed to "Multicultural Greek Council Room" in attempt to make space for students of color in Greek life.
