The Ecosystem Coldharbour Consortium brings together well-respected community organisations which have experience working with the community to deliver a range of initiatives, including violence reduction.;xNLx;;xNLx;The Consortium aims to address root causes of violence affecting young people and the community and to provide positive opportunities with a specific focus on tailored interventions. ;xNLx;;xNLx;The area of focus is Coldharbour Ward and the surrounding areas, and while the spread of this work will be fluid and inclusive, it will be focused on the ward’s largest estates of Angell Town, Loughborough and Moorlands as well as central Brixton.
We launched our project with the community via an online zoom event (due to covid) on this date. 52 Attendees, community and youth testimonials and great feedback. We're off!

We launched our Youth Leaders programme with this outstanding Youth Event, created by Young People. Designed to recruit local young ambassadors, the event included live music, poetry, singers, rappers, a dance group, food, and more...all provided by young people!
We've kicked off our Community & Policing engagement activities in style with a stimulating discussion & workshop hosted by Poet & Community Worker, Michael Groce and in preparation for an upcoming interview with Russell Howard!
Our visionary young people have kicked off a new Youth Update channel called YPM TV! Not only will it keep our community up to date with the youth programmes but it will also feature a rotation of young people hosting, producing, shooting, and editing.

We're elated to have launched our 2nd round of Community Grants where more local organisations can access to support to grow their visions around violence reduction.
The peace focused organisation Celebrate Life has been screening their Power To Change documentary at various venues around London and the UK. This screening in Crouch End featured Tafari, one of our youth leaders, as a panel member. He gave some wonderful guidance and feedback about working in schools with at-risk young people, the influence of music on violence and the film's impact on audiences.
We are elated to have officially taken on BevX Design as our new website design and graphics lead! Bev is a talented young designer with big plans for the future and She has come on to lead a team of young designers in creating our own creative design studio. Their team will not only take over all graphics and web design for Ecosystem but will support other young people in providing similar services for our partners and the area in general. Welcome Bev!
Well known consortium member Spiral Skills partnered with Marcus Lipton and our other Ecosystem partners to host an outstanding Careers Fest this week that attracted 100s of attendees, representatives from various providers, statutory organisations, and every one in between. Our monthly coffee mornings have become a popular way to connect with local residents and partners and quickly update each other about latest activities.
We've been building a powerful and mutually rewarding relationship with the MET since last summer and that relationship continues to yield big benefits. Here we are helping them assess an exciting new preventative tool that allows young people to truly experience the horrors and impact of youth violence on everyone who is affected by an incident. This 2nd Brixton area showing of Celebrate Life's Power To Change documentary was another fantastic success! Creating community wide empathy and understanding, it was another great opportunity for our intergenerational leaders to share community building ideas!
Marcus Lipton is super excited to be launching our Beauty By Brixton workshop and course series that will support local young talent to take their hobbies, skills, or existing businesses to the next level through these hands-on workshops delivered by industry professionals.
Michelle Killington of Vinyl Memories is one of our Grantees and a well known Community Leader in the Coldharbour area. She also provides Artist Development Support to local talent and on March 18th She produced a fantastic talent showcase that featured some amazing local talent!
We have been working very closely with Angell Town residents and local partners to help this wonderful community heal and become its best version of itself. This upcoming community led event will pull residents together to understand current activities, provide support, and engage them in the development of solutions.
Our Youth Leaders were hired to deliver a youth and mental health inclusion workshop as part of the Sound Connections Inclusion & Diversity Conference.
So after 10months of hard work, we took our Youth Leaders on a fantastic 5 day residential to Wales to work with horses, go hiking, and generally let loose!
Always focused on self-development, our team sat through 2 days of valuable personal finance training with MyBnk who are well known for delivering great money management courses for young people.
Celeste is another Ecosystem Grantee who used her grant to start providing keep fit sessions for our local residents at Marcus Lipton.
We've developed an incredible relationship with the local Police here and our 2 favourite officers arranged for us to meet with Lambeth Council to discuss using the WellBeing Bus to support residents after traumatic incidents.
We were excited to attend the first Young Londoners Linkup hosted by the VRU and intended to connect all the MyEnds Youth Leaders around London for a day of sharing, planning and learning.
