Hello! This timeline follows some of the figures, concepts, events, and projects associated with open learning over the past hundred years.
One of the main goals of open learning is to expand access. David Wiley
In 1998, David Wiley coined the term "open content” to describe material that is licensed to provide users with free and perpetual permission to engage in retaining, reusing, revising, remixing, and redistributing content, or the 5R activities. He is often called the godfather of open content.
