Judy Reyes

Reyes was born in The Bronx, New York to Dominican immigrants. She is best known for her portrayal of nurse Carla Espinosa on the NBC comedy Scrubs from 2001 to 2009. During this time, Reyes won the ALMA award for the first time in 2006 for Outstanding Actress in a Television Series. In 2012, Reyes was cast as series regular Zoila Diaz, the senior maid, in the ABC comedy-drama pilot Devious Maids. Working alongside Eva Longoria.

Shayla Rivera is a Puerto Rican/American stand-up comedian who uses observational and self-deprecating humor to point out that the truth is the funniest thing out there. Former NASA aerospace engineer, Rivera’s material is intended for mature audiences as she reports her observations of the common experiences in our everyday life. Her point of view comes from being herself, a woman, a Latino, a mother, a rocket scientist, a mystic, etc., “You know, a typical human being”, she says. She will often base her humor on observations of our cultural differences and refers often to her childhood experiences in Puerto Rico and the culture shock of moving into the American Culture at the tender age of 17. In 2004, Rivera received the “Mario Moreno Cantinflas Award” presented by the city of Los Angeles in recognition of entertainers who "represent the Latino Community with the same humor as the great Cantinflas did" and for her involvement in the community.

Eva Longoria

Longoria was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, the youngest of four daughters born to ninth-generation Mexican-American parents. Eva Longoria hit prime time with a vengeance in 2004 as the sexy, scheming Gabrielle Solis on the ABC dramedy Desperate Housewives. The ensemble show was an immediate hit, and Longoria shot to nationwide fame instantly. A year into the show, she won Choice TV Breakout Performance, Female, at the Teen Choice Awards and the cast won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. The cast won the SAG in 2006 as well, and Longoria took home the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy and the ALMA for Person of the Year.

Anjelah Johnson- Reyes was born and raised in San Jose, California and is of Mexican and Native American descent. Before her comedic career, Johnson- Reyes was a professional cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders; She was named Rookie of the Year and even performed in Super Bowl XXXVII. After that, she decided to move to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of acting. She first saw comedic fame when her “Nail Salon” video went viral. Soon after she was asked to become a cast member on ‘MADtv’ and was given the opportunity to create her best- known character Bon Qui Qui. Known for her exaggerated portrayals and quippy one liners, Anjelah Johnson- Reyes continues to tour and perform around the country. She currently is one of the only Latino women to have comedy specials streaming on Netflix.

Gina Rodriguez

Born and raised in Chicago, Puerto Rican Gina Rodriguez began performing as a child and later studied acting at New York University. She graduated from college and spent 4 years in the theater circuit. After landing her first than many different spots on a variety of dramatic show, Rodriguez went on to find fame in television. Most notably she turned down a role on the show Devious Maids because she believed that it portrayed Latinas in a negative light. She soon thereafter, Rodriguez landed the title character on the popular dramatic comedy Jane the Virgin, with the actress winning a Golden Globe for the role. Gina is a Latina funny woman who you can relate to and that’s what makes her so popular as of late.

Aubrey Plaza

Half Puerto Rican, Aubrey Plaza best known for her Deadpan delivery style of comedy. Although seemingly young Plaza has a multitude of comedic positions in her lifetime. Plaza starred in the online series The Jeannie Tate Show, and stars as Robin Gibney in ESPN's Mayne Street. She appeared on the on Funny or Die. She starred along Seth Rogen in 2009's Funny People directed by Judd Apatow. She also appeared in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Derrick Comedy's Mystery Team. Most notably though, Plaza created the character April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation. For her performance she has received universal praise throughout the entire show run, being referred to as one of the show's breakout characters.

Before reaching fame here in the states, Sofia Vergara was widely known in her home country of Colombia for her modeling and work as a television show presenter. In the early 2000s, Vergara became known as a film actress here in the United States following her debut in 2002's Big Trouble, 2003's Chasing Papi came next. Puerto Rican Powerhouse, Gina Brillon was born in New York City's South Bronx She started her stand up comedy career at the age of 17, performing at famous New York City comedy clubs such as Gotham Comedy Club and Stand Up New York. Gina has several television appearances under her belt such as being on The View, The Queen Latifah Show, and on various other programs on Comedy Central. Brillon was also featured in Gabriel Iglesias's movie "The Fluffy Movie" and is included in the Kevin James' sitcom "Kevin Can Wait" on CBS. Her hour special "Pacifically Speaking" was produced by her mentor and friend Gabriel Iglesias.
