THE International Conference on Goitre held in Berne on August 24th, 25th, and 26th drew about 120 experts from sixteen different countries. One of the objects of this conference was to promote, among experts representing every phase of the subject, formal and informal discussions on goitre, and the extent of the ground covered may be partly gauged from the fact that eight hours a day were spent at the formal meetings alone.
