Local Dance History Project test

The Local Dance History Project presents an informative look at the development of contemporary dance in Philadelphia through the works of six dance and movement artists: Dan Martin, Michael Biello, Jano Cohen, Terry Fox, Wendy Hammarstrom, and Ishmael Houston-Jones. These artists were among the first to explore post-modern, improvisation, and performance genres in the city during the late 1970s and early 80s.

A digital collection of this largely undocumented history is being preserved and shared through a partnership of Philadelphia Dance Projects and the Special Collections Research Center at Temple University Libraries.
