This timeline will give you a sense of attending a National High School Journalism Convention using the schedule for the 2018 San Francisco Convention and pictures from past Archer trips.

Exploring the expo

Time to check out the exposition hall. Be sure to get all the great swag, and wear your lanyard at all times. Grab dinner before the opening ceremony at 7.

Opening Ceremony/Keynote Speaker

At the official opening ceremony, Pacemaker Finalists and FAPFA winners will be honored. San Francisco Chronicle reporter Kevin Fagan and photojournalist Brant Ward will be the keynote speakers.

Workshops and Write-Offs

Select at least four workshops from a wide array of choices. Be sure to give yourself a lunch break! If you are participating in a write-off contest, check your ticket for the time and place.

Enjoy the student dance! Even if you're not a dancer, you will have opportunities to meet other journalism students from around the country.

JEA/NSPA Awards Ceremony

From the program: "Winners of the NSPA Best of Show, NSPA Pacemakers and national individual awards will be honored at this ceremony. In addition, winners of JEA Write-off contest, Journalist of the Year scholarships, Impact Award and Aspiring Young Journalist will be recognized.You also will see a slide show of convention highlights.

Time to celebrate! We will go out as a group to have dinner locally.
