Finland in World War 2
Finland participated in three major conflicts during World War II. One of the conflicts was Winter War in which Finland managed to defend its independence, but had to give nearly 10% of its territory and pay out a large amount of war reparations to the Soviet Union.

Olympics in Helsinki 1952
Summer Olympics in 1952 were 12. organized summer olympics. It was the first and so far the only hosts in Finland. Olympics were also one of the most well-received events in Finland. Helsinki had been earlier selected to host the 1940 Summer Olympics, which were cancelled due to World War II.

Finland 100 years
On December 6th 2017 it will have been 100 years from Finland declaring its independence. This is celebrated troughout the year in Finland for example in theater productions and museum exhibits. Fazer has also created a line of sweets in honor of Finlands 100th year of Independence.
