New Upper Valley Community Hall Built

New Upper valley Community Hall (with outdoor skating rink) was built on John Ronayne Farm (built by the Boys Club). This building existed until the 1970's when it collapsed under snow.

Pemberton Community Hall Receives Renos

PACA Sells Old Community Hall Site

PACA sold the lands they held downtown for $67,000 PACA used the proceeds to purchase Lot 12 adjacent to the Health Care Centre (crown grant) lands.

Design Competition Held for New Community Hall

Design competition was held. Concept for new community hall agreed upon between VoP/SLRD/PACA. Volunteers donated and hauled fill to site, for site preparation. Construction anticipated to start in 1993

Arena Concept Was Most Popular With Community

Through consultation, it was indentified that community support for arena was high. Focused shifted from community hall to arena (with community space). Work began to design a 'no-frills' arena. Cost was estimated to be $1.5 Million

Referendum to borrow $1 Million took place. Referendum was defeated with a 58% NO vote. PACA continued to seek community input on facility

Millenium Project Presented to Local Government

New Concept called the Millenium Project (included NHL Ice Arena and Community Centre) presented to local government. Slated to be completed by December 1999. Cost estimated to be $2.6 Million. Local Gov't asked for independant review of Concept/Plan. Project lost momentum due to lack of support from local government
