Dress For Success

This is a guideline on how to look before going on camera.

Hair Style

Your hair should be neat and combed. If you have longer hair, keep it off the collar.

This Goes on Top

A shirt and tie are always acceptable. A black jacket is also recommended depending on the situation.

2012-11-14 08:10:00

Pants

You should always wear slacks, typically black, that have been neatly pressed.

2012-11-14 08:15:00

Shoes

Your shoes should be the same color as your belt. They should not be scuffed but they don't have to be freshly polished either.

2012-11-14 08:30:00

Hair Style

Your hair should be worn down. If you have long hair, it shouldn't touch the mic. Pick a style you like. News organizations are not fans of change.

2012-11-14 08:40:00

This Goes on Top

Pick a professional top. That means NO LOW CUT TOPS. Also, avoid extreme colors. Blazers are a must.

2012-11-14 08:50:00

Bottoms

Either a skirt or slacks are acceptable. The skirt should also be professional, knee length or just above the knee is highly recommended.

Shoes

If you can avoid heels, do it. Bring them just in case, as you never know what the situation will call for. Flats are perfectly acceptable.
