Irezumi Tattoos

Irezumi is many styles of Japanese tattoo styles. It dates back to 300 BC - 600 AD. the artist pushes a needle dipped in ink into the skin. The tebori is a long piece of wood with needles attached on the tip.Tebori tattoos are usually large pieces and take hours at a time to finish.

Thomas Riley single coil rotary machine

Thomas Riley invented the single coil tattoo machine The electric-needle was invented by Mr. Riley and his cousin, Mr. S.F. O’Riley [sic]…and was patented by them on December 8, 1891, although it has since had several alterations and improvements made to it,which improved on O’Reilly’s patent by adding six needles.
