A special float was presented in the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Rotary International.

Club Paired with Scottish Rotarians

Rotary International President Carl Miller began pairing clubs in Scotland with Clubs in the US. The Newberg Club was matched with a club in Crieff.

Club Begins to Send Rota-Dent Units Throughout the World

1966 marked the first year that a portable dental unit was sent out. The first unit was sent to Africa.

Governor Mark Hatfield Speaks at Rotary

Governor Hatfield spoke at the Newberg Rotary Club. This was one of the most successful events of the year with attendance form Rotarians and community members.

Scott Leavitt Day was celebrated in honor of the man known as "Mr. Rotary."

Pancake Breakfast

The Pancake Breakfast begins in July of 1966. This will become an annual event at the Newberg Old Fashioned Festival.

Joe Schneider Becomes President

Pumpkin Contest Begins

President Joe Scheider challenged the other members to see who could grow the largest pumpkin. This became an annual event which was enjoyed by all.

Group Study Exchange Begins

During the presidency of Stew Harris, the Newberg Club participated in the Group Study Exchange Program for the first time. Newberg Rotartians hosted young businessmen from Finland.

Chris Jordan travels to Newberg from Sydney, Australia as the first student to participate in the Newberg Rotary Youth Exchange Program

Newberg Rotary Foundation Established

During Ken Austin's presidency the Newberg Rotary Foundation is established. The Foundation is a non-profit organization which allows people to make tax deductible donations. Foundations money goes to scholarships and other community needs.
