Columbus was born in Genoa, Italy. His father is Domenico Columo and his mother is Susanna Fotanarossa.

Columbus's family moved to Savona, Italy. During this year Columbus sailed on a Genoese ship hired by Rene of Anjou to support the attempt to conquer the Kingdom of Naples.

Columbus did an apprenticeship as business agent for Centurione, Di Negro and Spinola Families in Genoa.

Columbus asks for patronage from King Ferdinand of Spain was is refused. A priest, Father Perez, helps Columbus by pleading to Queen Isabella to fund him for his voyages.

King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain agree to provide money and ships for Columbus.

Columbus arrives at Cape Verde Islands, near Trinidad. He crosses the mainland to discover pearls. Columbus was the European first to land in South America but was criticized for the problems that occurred.

Bobadilla lands at Santo Domingo

Francisco de Bobadilla ordered to investigate Columbus. He landed on Santo Domingo, where Columbus and his brother think of themselves as rulers of this country. They were imprisioned in chains and sent home. The Spanish people freed him and he proposed another voyage.

Fourth and Final Voyage

Christopher Columbus leaves Cadiz, Spain with four ships on his last voyage. He discovered Central America. He explored the costs of Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama.
