New Discovery Centre

What started 30 years ago as a travelling science show from the back of a van, has now grown to the largest science centre in Atlantic Canada and one of the region’s most loved family institutions. The Discovery Centre has been a pillar of scientific discovery in Nova Scotia, pollinating 1.4 million minds by reinforcing curiosity, knowledge and innovation. But today, we are on the precipice of something monumental. We are building a new, state-of-the art Discovery Centre. The seed was planted with a tremendous gift from Nova Scotia Power – over 40,000 square feet of space in their corporate headquarters on the Halifax waterfront and title sponsorship of the new Energy Gallery.

With 30 years of bringing science to life for youth across our province we wanted to provide a behind the scenes look at the construction all the way back to our first beelievers. Follow us and take a look at this monumental milestone for the Discovery Centre and science in Nova Scotia.
