In 1962, Cassette tapes were created by the Phillips company. They named it the Compact Cassette. The first cassettes and recorders were not very good. But during the 70s they became popular because the quality was better.

Sony introduced the first walkman
Walkman is a Sony brand tradename originally used for portable audio cassette players, and now used to market Sony's portable audio and video players as well as a line of former Sony Ericsson mobile phones. The original Walkman introduced a change in music listening habits by allowing people to carry music with them and listen to music through lightweight headphones.

MTV Launch
MTV was the first ever music television channel to have been released. There were over 200 music videos that were first aired on MTV. The first song to have been played was "Video Killed the Radio Star"
