Lepage Bakeries proposes a new addition
It was back in March, 2001 when Lepage Bakeries announced their plan to build a $725,000 distribution center attached to the Lisbon Street bakery; good news for the Lewiston/Auburn area as Lepage Bakeries at the time was one of the top 10 property tax payers in the area and employed over 100 locals. "I feel this expansion will help ensure the future for the city," said Greg Mitchell, Lewiston's development director in 2001.

Lepage Bakeries expansion approved
In May of 2001 Lepage Bakeries threatened to fold its business if the Planning Board members did not approve of the expansion plans for the new distibution center. Ultimitaley it took a three hour long discussion to eventually approve the distribution center still standing in downtown Lewiston.

Employee files harassment complaints
In May, 2001 Terry Mikesell filed multiple harassment complaints about fellow Lepage Bakeries employers bullying him based on his old age and perceived lack of masculinity. The members of the commission sided with him in two of his three complaints.
