In Rome they had several different kinds of clowns they where famous for miming and they’re funny grimaces with their faces and body. Malaya even today some are similar. They are called P’rang and wear huge masks and turbans.

In china they had clowns attached to the Imperial Court as long as the Chou Dynasty
