Love Your Block Weekend

The Citizens Committee for New York City has awarded us a Love Your Block (LYB) Grant! We will be implementing our plan to expand our useable spec during this three day event. Please join us as we create a new community space in LIC for outdoor gatherings, skillshares and events! On this first day we will be doing major trash debris removal, clearing brush and separating materials into recycle, compost and rubbish piles. ***Get there at noon for light snacks and an inspirational talk about the Empathic World from Shig Matsukawa, bokashi extrodinaire*** Your help is greatly appreciated and you are welcome to come for all or a portion of any event. This is day 1 of a three day event: Good Friday 4/18 12-6pm – https://www.facebook.com/events/710980628947314/ On this first day we will be doing major trash debris removal, clearing brush and separating materials into recycle, compost and rubbish piles. Transportation Alternatives Bike Tour of Greening Queens Library Infrastructure

Smiling Hogshead Ranch accepts kitchen scraps collected weekly at the Queens Library at Woodside (one of 5 Queens Library compost collection sites).
