The year magellan was born is not really exact, but is known to be close to be 1480.
He became the queen's page when he was about 13 years old. A job of being a page was a risky job and would be really hard. You have to send the papers to all of the people's house on the front door.
On this day, a fleet of the portugeese war ships sailed to the sea. They came back after 4 years after years of fighting, war, and more expeditions to discover more land and to conquer more land for the kingdom or empire of Portugal.
They sailed with a portuguese war fleet with armed solidiers. They sailed over to Melka and conquered Melka and came back.
Ferdinand magellan later on got interested in sea navigation after the great discoveries of Henry the Navigator. He joined and later on built settlements in Melka and came back to Portugal again.
Later on after two years of expedition, he joined the military forces. He joined it and took part of his job to head for Morocco. he discovered things there and conquered it for his country's good luck.
Ferdinand got himself his own fleet of warships and set out an expedition to go around the world to discover new things. He went down the Cape of Good Luck which is the tip of Africa.
Magellan went over the tip of Africa, but never got to conquer any more land. He was killed when conquering the Phillipines by an angry crowd of the natives there. But, the rest of his soldiers fot for the best they can like with rage. They carried their leader's body and buried it. But still, the remaining soldiers were able to come back to Portugal.
At Portugal, after the map of magellan's drawings, the first circummfnavigation was made.
