Lewis and Clark
Lewis and Clark By:Jaeho May 18,2011 Did you ever think you can lead an expedition of the American continent? That’s what Lewis and Clark did. Lewis was born on August 18,1805 in a small village. And Clark was born on March 6,1801 in a small village, where Lewis was born.Sadly Lewis died in 1876 and Clark died in 1838. Lewis and Clark led the first overland expedition of the American continent. The expedition ‘s goal as stated by President Jefferson was to explore the Missouri River and such principal stream of it as,by its course and communication with water of the Pacific Ocean may offer the most direct and practicable water communication across this continent, for the purpose of commerce. In addition, the expedition was to learn more about the North west’s natural resources, inhabitants and possibilities for settlement. Sacagawea helped Lewis and Clark to led the first overland expedition of the American continent. But even there was a help from Sacgawea they had a hard journey because of the bad weather.Sometimes it would be foggy for the boats to travel or too cold to leave camp.If there wasn’t a help from Sacagawea. They would stay there for ever in a bad weather. Lewis and Clark were great explorer and I’m proud them and I’m glad that’s what they explored.I checked some information about Lewis and Clark. It said they had lots of obstacle and a bad weather such as cloudy ,rainy and sunny. But the good thing is they overcame it so I’m so proud that’s just wanting to be like them!!
