Eight-year DNA Study: Fresh, Not Frozen, is Best Specimen Storage

David Boyer, a former DoD armed forces pathology program manager and now Keuka ASAP coordinator, presented findings from a DNA study of more than 400,000 samples that ran from 1997 through 2006. Results confirmed freezing is not necessary and room temperature is a viable storage method.
