Indian Campaign of Alexander the Great

In 327 B.C, the great Greek conqueror Alexander found his way to India after subduing Syria, Egypt, and Persia. Alexander first invaded Punjab, or land of the five rivers. At that time it was ruled by king Porus.

Collation of Buddhist Scriptures

Hieun-tsang, a devout Chinese Buddhist undertook a forbidden journeyed to India. In 629, defying imperial proscription, he secretly set out on his epochal journey to the land of the Buddha from Chang’an. Xuanzang reports that he travelled by night, hiding during the day, enduring many dangers, and bereft of a guide after being abandoned by his companions.
