On Januray 17 1948, William James (Billy) was born in Cambridge, Waikato New Zealand.
billy T James registered as a student of Whangarei Boys' High School on 6 February 1962. At school he sand and played the guitar. he was so talented that the teachers placed him on the wall of fame.
Billy T joined the maori volcanics show band in 1970. He performed around the world entertaining over 10,000 people.
In 1980 Billy appeared in the television variety show radio times, the success of which led to his own comedy sketch show in 1981 called The Billy T James show, co staring Peter Rowley and Billy T James.
In February 1986 Billy sufferd a major heart attack and underwent a quadruple by pass operation, The operation was not successful, and in November 1989 and Billy recevied a heart transplant.
Billy T James died of heart failier in 1991. At the age of 42
