Since the Gallery opened its doors at its current location in 1905, the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy has been led by extremely dedicated and talented individuals. Each of the past and present directors has contributed to the Gallery's 150+ year tradition of collecting, conserving, and exhibiting the art of its time. With their combined hard work and quality of service, the Gallery has become a leading cultural institution on regional, national, and international stages through exceptional exhibitions, publications, programs, and collaborations. Under their direction, the Gallery has strived to be an inspiring educational resource for all audiences. Their collective contributions have given rise to one of the world’s most extraordinary art collections and have greatly enhanced the understanding and appreciation of contemporary and modern art.
