Special Friends in Sadhana

In Sadhana (India), lives a community of adults with developmental disabilities including epilepsy, autism and other neurological impairments. The people of Sadhana call them their 'Special Friends'. They live together with co-workers, house parents and volunteers. Two online NABUUR volunteers (Julia Schönberger and Many Schinke from Germany)went to Sadhana for three months to share their knowledge on special therapies for these friends.

Twittering mosquito nets

25 April – World Malaria Day. Appeals to donate mosquito nets pop up every minute on twitter. Amongst big campaigns such as Malaria No More or Roll Back Malaria, a couple of Nabuur volunteers twittered “Tweet A Net”. Malaria is still endemic in 95% of Uganda and accounts for 70,000-110,000 child deaths annually in Uganda.
