Maryland's DNC Speakers

The Democratic National Convention was first founded in Baltimore, Md., in 1832 and held there for the first six conventions. Speakers from Maryland have secured prominent convention spots in the last few decades.

The first Democratic National Convention was held at The Athenaeum and Warfield's Church in Baltimore from May 21-23, 1832.

Held at the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Baltimore from May 20-22, 1835.

Third Democratic National Convention

Held at The Assembly Rooms in Baltimore from May 5-6, 1840.

Fourth Democratic National Convention

Held at Odd Fellows Hall in Baltimore from May 27-29, 1844. It was also the first convention reported by telegraph.

Held at the Universalist Church in Baltimore.

Sixth Democratic National Convention

The Maryland Institute played host to the sixth DNC convention, which would be the last convention held in Baltimore for another eight years.

1912 Democratic National Convention

Held at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore June 25-July 2. The DNC hasn't been back to Baltimore or Maryland since then.
