National Council of Jewish Women formed

Hannah Greenbaum Solomon formed the National Council of Jewish Women at the 1893 World Parliament of Religions when she realized that the participation of Jewish women would be restricted to hostess duties. The new organization starts working with Jane Adams on settlement houses

Seattle Section NCJW formed on suggestion of Mrs. Bailey Gatzert.

First Settlement house begins operations

Settlement house begins operations, offering services such as free baths beginning 1906 under the Philanthropic board (names) at 12th & Washington.
